We collect Personal Information when you register, access, or visit the Service, including when you participate in activities in the Service.

We receive and store any information you enter on our Service or provide to us in any other way. The types of Personal Information collected may include your name, user name, email address, and location information. The Personal Information you provide is used for such purposes as allowing you to interact with other users, improving the Service, customizing the advertising and content you see, and communicating with you about specials and new features. We may also use this Personal Information in order to adapt the Services to your needs, to research the effectiveness of our network, and to develop new tools for the community.

3. Information Collected Through Passive Means

As with most other websites, we collect and use the data contained in log files. We collect information passively using technology to make our Service more interesting and useful. For instance, when you visit one of our Sites, your IP address is collected. An IP address is often associated with the network through which you enter the Internet, like your ISP or your company. At times, we also use IP addresses to collect information regarding the frequency with which our users visit various parts of our Service. We may also use passively collected information to help diagnose problems with our servers, and to administer the Service.

Livelap may store such information itself or such information may be included in databases owned and maintained by Livelap affiliates, agents or service providers. This Site may use such information and pool it with other information to track, for example, the total number of visitors to our Site, the number of visitors to each page of our Site, the domain names of our visitors’ Internet service providers, and how our users use and interact with the Livelap Service. Also, in an ongoing effort to better understand and serve the users of the Services, Livelap often conducts research on its customer demographics, interests and behavior based on the Personal Information and other information provided to us. This research may be compiled and analyzed on an aggregate basis. Livelap may share this non-identifiable and aggregate data with its affiliates, agents and business partners, but this type of non-identifiable and aggregate information does not identify you personally. Livelap may also disclose aggregated user statistics in order to describe our services to current and prospective business partners, and to other third parties for other lawful purposes.

When you use our Services, we automatically collect information on the type of device you use, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.

Cookies

When you use the Service we may store a small amount of information on your computer. This information will be in the form of a “cookie” or similar file. Cookies are small files stored on your computer, not on our Site. We use cookies in our web tools to deliver content specific to your interests, and so that you do not need to reenter all your registration data at each visit. Through your web browser you can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. Each browser is a little different, so look at your browser’s Help menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookie settings. Our Sites may also use a variety of technical methods for tracking purposes, such as pixel tags (for more information about pixel tags, please read below). We may also use these technical methods to analyze the traffic patterns on our Sites.

Clear gifs

We employ and our third party advertising partner / tracking utility partner employ a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs/Pixel tags), that help us better manage content on our site by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We tie the information gathered by clear gifs to our customers’ personally identifiable information.

We use clear gifs in our HTML-based emails to let us know which emails recipients have opened. This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of certain communications and the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns.

Mobile Analytics

We use mobile analytics software to allow us to better understand the functionality of our Mobile Software on your phone. This software may record information such as how often you use the application, the events that occur within the application, aggregated usage, performance data, and where the application was downloaded from. To the extent the information collected is associated with your personally identifiable information, we treat that information as personally identifiable as described in this Privacy Policy.

To provide the Services, we may derive location information from your ISP or wireless carrier, certain third-party service providers, or directly from the (mobile) device that you are using. When you use the Services, our servers automatically record certain information about your usage. These server logs may include information such as a (mobile) device identification number and device identifier, web requests, IP address, browser type, browser language, referring / exit pages and URLs, platform type, number of clicks, domain names, search terms, landing pages, pages viewed and the order of those pages, features used in the Services, the amount of time spent on particular screens, the dates and times of your requests, and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser.

4. Use of Personally Identifiable Information

We may use your personally identifiable information in many ways, including helping improve your experience on the Service, troubleshooting, and sharing your information with third parties so that these third parties can provide services to you. Examples of such functions include mailing information, maintaining databases, and sending out emails or push notifications. When we employ another company to perform a function of this nature, we only provide them with the information that they need to perform their specific function.

We may also supplement personally identifiable information that we have collected directly from our users with other information that we obtain from third party partners

We may take your personally identifiable information and make it non-personally identifiable, either by combining it with information about other individuals, or by removing characteristics (such as your name) that make the information personally identifiable to you. We may aggregate or de-personalize your personal information, and we may use and/or share the resulting non-personally identifiable information with third parties in any way.

We will send you service-related announcements via email or push notifications on rare occasions when it is necessary to do so. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance, we might send you an email.

Based upon the personally identifiable information you provide us, we will send you email to verify your email address, to activate your account and to provide you login codes. We will also communicate with you in response to your inquiries, to provide the services you request, to manage your account and to send you newsletters. You may opt-out from receiving our newsletter by following the unsubscribe link located at the bottom of each communication.

If you choose to use our invitation service to tell a friend about our Service, we will ask you for your friend’s email address. We will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the Service. We store this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email and tracking the success of our referral program. Your friend may contact us at privacy@livelap.com to request that we remove this information from our database.

Because the service integrates information from 3rd party services, you will also need to cancel any 3rd party services that share your information. Some information will remain in archives or backups for our records or as required by law. We will retain and use your information as necessary to monitor trends, improve the service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

We may update this privacy statement to reflect changes to our information practices. If we make any material changes we will notify you by means of a notice on this Site prior to the change becoming effective. We encourage you to periodically review this page for the latest information on our privacy practices.

This Privacy Policy applies only to the Service. This Site may contain links to other web sites or services not operated or controlled by Livelap (the “Third Party Sites”). The policies and procedures we described here do not apply to the Third Party Sites. The links from this Site do not imply that Livelap endorses or has reviewed the Third Party Sites. We suggest contacting those Sites directly for information on their privacy policies.

Your access to and use of this Site and the Service is subject to our Terms of Use (this page).

10. Social Media (Features) and Widgets

Our Web site includes Social Media Features, such as the Facebook Like button and Widgets, such as the Share this button or interactive mini-programs that run on our site. These Features may collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on our site, and may set a cookie to enable the Feature to function properly. Social Media Features and Widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our Site. Your interactions with these Features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing it.

11. Advertisement

We use third party advertisements on Livelap to support our site. Third party vendors, including Google, may use technology such as cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to Livelap, which will also send these advertisers information including your IP address, your ISP, the browser you used to visit our site, and in some cases, whether you have Flash installed. We may use the Doubleclick cookie for ad serving through Google’s DoubleClick, which places a cookie on your computer when you are browsing the web and visit a site using DoubleClick advertising. Google's use of the DoubleClick cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our sites and/or other sites on the Internet. This cookie is used to serve ads specific to you and your interests (”interest based targeting”). This is generally used for geotargeting purposes (showing New York real estate ads to someone in New York, for example) or showing certain ads based on specific sites visited (such as showing cooking ads to someone who frequents cooking sites).

The ads served will be targeted based on your previous browsing history (For example, if you have been viewing sites about visiting Amsterdam, you may see Amsterdam hotel advertisements when viewing a non-related site, such as on a site about soccer). The DoubleClick cookie uses “non personally identifiable information”. It does NOT track personal information about you, such as your name, email address, physical address, telephone number, social security numbers, bank account numbers or credit card numbers.

You may opt out of the use of the DoubleClick cookie for interest-based advertising by visiting Ad Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for interest based advertising by visiting aboutads.infoom (USA) or youronlinechoices.com (Europe).

You can choose to disable or selectively turn off our cookies or third-party cookies in your browser settings, or by managing preferences in programs such as Norton Internet Security. However, this can affect how you are able to interact with our site as well as other websites. This could include the inability to login to services or programs, such as logging into forums or accounts.

Deleting cookies does not mean you are permanently opted out of any advertising program. Unless you have settings that disallow cookies, the next time you visit a site running the advertisements, a new cookie will be added.
